Meet people who play Forever

In DISCOVER you pick WoW Forever from your games and swipe through cards of people who play it too. Each card shows their faction and ruleset, the languages they speak, the hours they usually play, their region and what else they play. And it only shows you people you can actually play with: your ruleset, a faction that matches yours, your region and your language.

The first time you go into Forever, the app asks for your faction and ruleset: without them it can’t tell who you can group with.

If someone clicks with you, say hi with a message. It reaches them as a request, and if they answer, you’re talking. Each person can send you one request. Just the one.

DISCOVER, with WoW Forever picked.

A group for tonight

Dungeon tonight and you’re a healer short? Post a session in PLAY: dungeon, questing or PvP, the time, how many you still need, the role you’re after —tank, healer or damage— and the language you’ll play in. It carries your faction and ruleset, so only people who can play with you see it, and they join with one tap, no waiting for someone to accept them.

A session is for a group of up to five, which is just right for a dungeon, some quests or levelling together. When it closes, everyone inside sees each other’s character name and you invite each other in game. And if you pick raid, the app takes you to create a group: 10 and 20-player raids don’t fit in a session.

PLAY: open WoW Forever sessions in your language.

Your guild or raid team, as a group

Whether you run a guild or the fixed group for raids, set it up as a GAMERLY group: your name, what you’re about, the ruleset you play on (Normal, PvP, RP or Hardcore) and, if you like, your faction. Inside you get your own chat, a regular session for raid nights that reminds the whole group the day before and fifteen minutes before, and a link to bring new people in. Up to fifty fit.

Looking for a guild? In Find groups you see WoW Forever groups that speak your language and that you can play with: your ruleset and a faction that matches yours. The ones recruiting say so. You join with one tap, or ask to join if the group approves each person.

And if a dungeon goes well, the session’s room can stay on as a group: all it takes is two of you saying yes.

A WoW Forever group: chat, regular session and who’s around.

What to look for, and when

Forever asks for different things as it goes. This is what you’ll usually need at each stage, and how to sort it here.

  1. Oct 27 – Nov 3Name reservation

Before you start: ruleset and faction

Forever has no realms: you pick a ruleset (Normal, PvP or RP; Hardcore comes later) and a faction, and you can only group with people who match on both. On PvP you can also only create characters for one faction. Agree with your people before you reserve your name. On GAMERLY, once you’ve said yours, you only see people you can group with.

  2. Nov 4Launch

    Levelling in a group

Levelling from 1 to 60 is better with company. Look in DISCOVER for people who speak your language and are starting too, or post a session to quest together that night.

  3. While levellingDungeons

    Groups of five

A tank, a healer and damage: that’s what fits in a dungeon session. Say which role you’re missing and whoever plays it joins.

  4. Dec 9New raids

A raid needs a fixed group

Barrow Deeps is a 10 and Hyjal a 20. Pulling people together every night stops working here: you need a group with set days and times. Set it up as a group, with its regular session: if you pick raid when posting, the app takes you there.

  5. After launchHardcore

    People you trust

If your character dies, it leaves Hardcore (it can carry on in another ruleset). Who you go with matters more than ever: people you’ve already played with, who show up when they say.

Dates and rules come from Blizzard: the dates and the rulesets.

How it works

  1. Add WoW Forever to your profile, with your faction, your ruleset, your languages and your hours.
  2. Meet people in DISCOVER, or join a session in PLAY.
  3. When the session closes, everyone inside sees each other’s character name. Not before.
  4. If you get on, carry on as a group: chat, a regular session and a link to invite people.
Inside a session: who’s in, what’s missing and, when it closes, the character name.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a guild for WoW Forever?

On GAMERLY, two ways. In Find groups you see WoW Forever groups that speak your language and that you can play with, and the ones recruiting say so. And in DISCOVER you meet people who play Forever, which is how plenty of guilds start: three or four people who get on.

Are there guilds for my language in WoW Forever?

Groups set up on GAMERLY say which languages they speak, and you only see the ones that speak one of yours. If the community you’re after isn’t there yet, create your group and share its link wherever you already talk.

Who do I play WoW Forever with if my friends don’t play it?

With people who play it and speak your language. In DISCOVER you get to know them bit by bit, saying hi to whoever clicks with you; in PLAY you join a session for tonight and just play.

When does WoW Forever come out?

On 4 November 2026, worldwide at the same time: 3:00 p.m. PST. Early name reservation runs from 27 October to 3 November for eligible upgrade purchases. New raids arrive on 9 December, and Hardcore at some point after launch. Straight from Blizzard.

Can I play with someone from the other faction or another ruleset?

No. In Forever the Horde and the Alliance can’t group, and neither can characters on different rulesets. That’s why it’s worth deciding with your people before you start. On GAMERLY you’re never shown anyone you couldn’t group with: no cards, sessions or groups on another ruleset, the other faction or another region.

Does a session work for a raid?

No: a PLAY session is for a group of up to five, for dungeons, questing or PvP. If you pick raid when posting, the app takes you to create a group, with its regular session, which reminds everyone before each raid night.

Who sees my character name?

Only the people inside a session with you when it closes. It isn’t on your card or in any list.

How much does GAMERLY cost?

Nothing. It’s free, for ages 16 and up, and it’s in beta right now: join the test to get in.
